A devastating fire has claimed the lives of 20 animals and completely destroyed Sanctuary Farm Everlasting Care. Founder of Woodstock Sanctuary, Jenny Brown, sends her condolences and hope to the Sanctuary Farm as they work to rebuild.
Animal lover, Jody Bart, suffered an immeasurable loss when a fire ravaged through her Amherst county home. She rushed to the scene to discover her house “totally engulfed” in flames. But that wasn’t even half of it. The devastating fire also took the lives of 20 of the animals that were under her loving care at her Sanctuary Farm.
The fire claimed the lives of parrots, cats and a dog — all of whom were precious to Bart. Sanctuary Farm Everlasting Care is a forever home for animals who have been left behind, either by the passing of their owners or after suffering abuse. For nearly three decades, Bart has focused her energy on taking these animals in.
Jody Bart has expressed that she hasn’t even dealt with the grief of losing her home — not yet, anyway. She is too focused on being proactive and productive in caring for the animals who survived this devastation. The fire not only claimed the lives of 20 animals, but also destroyed animal medicines, feed, cages, structures, tools and other necessary equipment.
At this time, Jenny Brown strongly encourages animal lovers to send their support to Bart and the Sanctuary Farm Everlasting Care family, if in a position to do so.
